Our Mission
The Steven A. Cohen Military Family Clinic at Valley Cities
provides confidential, high-quality therapy, and local referral support services to post-9/11 veterans, service members*, National Guard and Reserves, and their family members, including spouse or partner, children, parents, siblings, caregivers and others.
Care is available regardless of discharge status, role while in uniform, or combat experience. Insurance or ability to pay will never be a barrier to care. *TRICARE referral needed for active duty.
The Steven A. Cohen Military Family Clinic at Valley Cities is part of Cohen Veterans Network, founded by Steven A. Cohen, who made a $275M commitment to launch a network of mental health clinics to serve veterans and families.

Therapy Services
The highly skilled clinicians at the Cohen Clinic at Valley Cities treat a variety of behavioral health challenges for individuals, couples, and families. We use Evidence-Based Practices (EBPs), which means that our care is supported by research and considered to be among the best, most effective practices available.

I just spoke with Anita at the Cohen Clinic in Lakewood. She is amazing, she was very professional with everyone on the group call, she asked questions to make sure everyone was heard and taken care of, she was very timely, and when she found out that we weren't a good fit, she looked up several places that might work for us. She even called many of them for us, to see if they could help. She then said she would keep looking in case they didn't work.
Someone did call back and she quickly made a group call so we could talk together, and she helped us get a therapist in Arizona....that's how far she looked for us, we live in Washington, but she found one in Arizona that took both our insurances and would fit our needs.
If I could give Anita a 10 star review and bonus, I would.
I totally recommend, and thank the Steven A, Cohen Clinic at Valley Cities in Lakewood, after a long search, they found someone for us within a few days.
A Breath of Fresh Air.
I have been working with clinicians to resolve my "stuff" for about 30 years. But my therapist at Cohen clinic was like a breath of fresh air. He used innovative (to me) techniques which were positive changes from the usual talk therapy that I was accustomed to. His calm, professional and insightful approach helped me to begin to chip away at the anxiety, fear, depression, low self esteem and anger that were threatening to overwhelm me. I learned some new techniques for combating the crazy voices that can haunt me when I'm feeling down. I whole heartedly recommend the Cohen clinic to anyone who has the opportunity to work with their staff and therapist. Thanks so much folks.
